Located in the Trinidad neighborhood of Washington, DC, this project was met with the challenge of converting an existing two-story single family townhouse into a stacked duplex without diminishing the scale and character of the building. To accomplish this, square footage was added by expanding the footprint towards the back and providing a third-floor addition. The third floor was set back from the front to lessen the visual impact from the street. One unit occupies the basement and first floor, and the other located on the second and third floors with access to a private roof terrace. Both units have three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms and are accessed by separate private entrances from the street level.
