The scope for this project involved the transformation of an existing townhome into a five-unit multi-family building that is situated within the Historic District of Mt. Vernon Square in Washington, DC. The partial third-floor addition was carefully designed to not be visible from the street as to preserve the character of the home and the integrity of the historic neighborhood.
The project obtained approvals from the Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) and the Board of Zoning Adjustments (BZA). The unit mix includes one studio, three one bedroom unit, and one two-bedroom unit with an inboard den.
